April 12- 16, 2010 Welcome back to school we hope you had a wonderful break. Here are some important dates: Registration forms for 2010-11 are due. Kid Camp Interest form is due. We need the forms so we can make our plans for summer. Saturday, April 24th is the Butter & Eggs parade. Be sure to wear your blue Happy Day T-shirt. We will take part in the Kid's Parade. Happy Day Alumni are welcome to walk with us! Friday, May 7th is our Wacky Western Family Fundraiser. The time is from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Dinner will be served and we'll have lots of activites, a petting zoo, silent auction & raffle. Tim Cain will finish up the evening--so wear your western duds and come for a good time! YAHOO!
March 1 -5, 2010 Our spring fundraiser is coming up in May. More details will soon be available as to date, time, etc. but meanwhile please be thinking about items that you can donate to our Silent Auction. Very popular items are the class projects--contact the lead teacher in your child's room if you have an idea and/or would like to chair the project.
February 1 -5, 2010 Traffic alert for Tuesday and Wednesday: The City of Petaluma will be working on the water main which is very close to our school driveway entrance. We are anticipating that you will need to use "C" Street, for both entering and exiting the parking lot.

Gymnastics Note: It's February and there's cartwheels, rolls and handstands to learn! Not to mention the awesome brain challenges that our super gymnastics classes offer your children. The new session of Flying Angels Gymnastics begins this Tuesday at 2:00. Please be sure to put your child's name together with your $40.00 payment so we can credit you properly. We hope you are enjoying the convenience, quality and savings of having your child take gymnastic classes at Happy Day. Steve Sassone.
January 18 - 22 What exciting weather--rain, thunder and lightning! Perhaps God will even add a rainbow at the end of the week! If your child would like to wear their rain boots to school please let them. On our "rain walks" puddles are for splashing in and on the playground the sand is quite wet as we explore how water runs downhill and what pill bugs and salamanders do when it rains.
With the rainy weather if we have a power outage we will NOT have school. If at all possible we will call you before you come to school and let you know. If the outage happends during the day we will call and ask that you pick up your child as soon as possible. We have flashlights ready and a phone in the office that works without electricity so you will be able to contact us.
In early February we will have priority registration for the 2010-11 school year. Returning students, Happy Day siblings and children of church members have priority. We hope you will recommend our school to your friends and neighbors, encourage them to call Happy Day office to set up a tour. Watch for registration forms in your cubbie.

November 16 -20 Happy Day T-shirts were placed in cubbies this week. If the size is not right, please stop by the office and exchange for another size.
Thank you to all for supporting our Fundraising Event. We made $2500 to support our ongoing projects at school.
Please have your children wash their hands with soap and water as soon as they arrive at school each morning. You are also encouraged to have them wash their hands before you take them home for the day. This is the best way to prevent spreading of germs during this flu season.
Upcoming events: Food Drive--Will continue through December. Your November food contributions will be given to the Petaluma Kitchen. December contributions, both food and new toys, will be given to Christmas Cheer which provides for Petaluma families.
Scholastic book Orders were due November 20th--if you forgot it's not too late to turn your order into the office.
Parents' Night Out--December 1, 2009, 5 to 8 pm Happy Day will be open for your chid care needs as you prepare for the holidays. The cost is $10 per child. We will make Christmas ornaments, sing Christmas songs and have loads of entertainment from the entire Happy Day Staff. Sign up sheets are available in your child's classroom.

November 2 - 6, 2009 Our fundraiser at Mister McGoos was wonderful! Thank you to the McGaughey family for opening their doors to us. Thank you families, both church and Happy Day, who bought dinner and raffle tickets. What a fun night! We especially appreciate all the donations for the raffle--thank you parents and Petaluma merchants who donated items. A way we can all say Thank You is to patronize these businesses--including Mister McGoos on a regular basis.
Upcoming events:
Our Innisbrook order has been shipped, we expect it to arrive by next week. The boxed orders will be placed near each classroom's main door so be on the lookout for yours. Thank you all who ordered. We have used some of the money for a new fish tank in the Adventure Room and to upgrade the one in Discovery Room.
Food Drive (non perishable) begins next week. Feed the turkey in each class.
Scholastic Books order forms are in your cubbies this week. Orders will be received before Christmas break.

Christmas Carols singing during 10:30 am Church Service, Sunday, December 13, 2009
First Presbyterian Church Sunday School Bazaar at 2:30 Sunday, December 13. The church welcomes donations of clothes, toys, school supplies, etc. slightly used or new.
Happy Day Christmas Sings will be the week of December 14th. We will have the dates and times posted soon.
Flying Angel Gymnastics Gymnastics is every Tuesday from 2 to 2:30 pm. Be sure and leave your payment for the class in the envelope marked, Gymnastics, located with the Building Blocks sign in. Happy Day T Shirts
