VIP - What is this?

A "very important person" day is a day where your child shares a topic of interest of themselves or their families! Please look at the dates on the class sign up sheet and sign up for a date that best suits your schedule! On your child's special day, you and your child can come in and talk about a toy, a pet, a vacation you went on, their sport, their hobby, pictures, etc. Some examples could be their favorite toy, favorite book, ballet, dance, baseball, soccer, family heritage, family traditions... anything that you and your child would like to share! This is an opportunity for you, as parents to join your child in school for a day and participate in their daily activities to see what it is all about!  VIP days usually start in January.

V.I.P. Day schedule (parent-child participation):

9 am - Come to school with your child!

9:30am - Circle time – During this time you and your child will share your topic through show and tell, demonstration, a story or something else.

10 am -  Centers! Here you will involve a small group of children in an activity which will be based on what you decide to talk about in circle! This can be a science experiment, an art project, a game or a movement activity (ex. teaching ballet, dancing, playing an instrument), etc.

10:30am - Snack time! Your family contributes to this time by bringing in your family's favorite fruit to supplement that day's snack! Please sit, eat and talk with us!

10:45 am -  Outdoor time. You can choose to stay and play with us outside for the rest of the morning if you would like!

**Please ask a teacher if you have any questions or for further information.**

Who is invited to V.I.P. Day?

We would like to have a maximum of four adults from your family join us at school in order to insure that the children still feel safe and secure in their own environment and not outnumbered by adults! Moms, Dads, Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts and Uncles or other family members/friends are invited. We just ask that you keep the number to four or less! Thank you for your cooperation!

Happy Day Ministry Team:

We are starting to think about our annual fundraiser and would encourage any volunteers with creative ideas and anyone who has time to help out! We are looking to plan a family oriented event where we can raise money for the school while also providing a place for children to have fun and enjoy the day with their parents and their friends! If would be great if you or anyone you know would be willing to join our team!

Parent conferences:

This is an opportunity for parents to come in and talk to their child’s teacher, address  questions and receive an update on how their child has progressed throughout this school year. It is a time  to find out how they can help their child, at home, benefit from the program here at school. We will take a look at a portfolio of children’s pictures and artwork compiled by the teachers throughout the semester.
