The Adventure Room had some shares last week about the Monterey Bay Aquarium and this sparked a huge interest among the children!!  We will take this interest right into an Ocean curriculum.  We will explore sink and float in Science.  We will learn about ocean waters and how they become salty.  The children will also learn about different sea life.  Look for a giant rock with sea creatures! Life as a preschooler is always filled with so much wonder!

February 1 - 5, 2010

The children started the week making French Toast for snack.  This week we will be learning about friendship and how this wonderful relationship evolves.  We will also be talking about Groundhog Day and Valentine's Day.  The children will be encouraged to make new friends in the classroom.  For Valentine's Day, that is quickly coming please have your child sign only their name on their Valetine cards.  If you could bring 22 signed cards by Feb. 9th we will be ready for our party on Thurs, February 11th.

November 16 - 20, 2009

During the next two weeks we will be learning about the season of Thanksgiving and Native Americans.  We will be talking about thankfulness through our messages of gratitude.  We will make our own  for the feast, make our Pilgrim hats and Native American headgear and fix mashed potatoes.  We will also learn about corn, do corn cob prints, prepare corn bread and stone soup.  Our outdoor activities will focus on the voyage of the Mayflower.  We will have a feast on Tuesday, November 24th at snack time.

            November 2 - 6
This week's adventure is about Fairy Tales.  What is real?  What is pretend?  Creative expression through acting out stories that are familiar to the children such as Cinderella, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, the Three Little Javelinas, and several nursery rhymes develops their self-esteem as new interests evolve.  We will make a turkey, name it, and feed it each day during the Food Drive.  Plealse bring in a shoe box for your child this week.  We are working on a project that needs shoe boxes.  Thank you parents for our Halloween Party last week.
