Discovery Room welcomes three year olds to our Program with a choice of two to five days per week. This teaching staff in the Discovery Room is led by Karen Haugen who is the Program's Coordinator. Children are given the opportunity to thrive in a loving and nurturing environment staffed by well-educated, caring teachers.
The Discovery Room is
a warm, cozy and welcoming environment in which they
will feel safe and secure with qualified teachers.
The teachers are ready to set up new and exciting
experiences and opportunities to explore with our many
centers.
Daily activities will include: easel
painting, varied art choices, play-dough, sensory
activities, science, and table tasks which include
manipulatives, puzzles, matching, counting, cooking and even art. Dramatic play is always available in
many forms, a large motor area, block building and a
quiet reading center. Outdoor play which promotes
large motor skills is also an important part of our
daily activity.
Planned by the teachers throughout the
school year, each of these centers will present
different activities, keeping in mind children's
developmental, social and cognitive skills. Music in
the form of song and dance is presented many times
during the day as well as a library filled with
wonderful literature for children.
It will be our
greatest joy to honor families, foster trust between
home and school and to promote friendships and self
esteem in your children.
