Happy Day Christianity Segment Title

The purpose of Happy Day Presbyterian School is to provide a supportive and nurturing Christian environment where the child realizes God’s love, experiencing the value and joy of playing and learning in harmony with others.

The goals of Happy Day Presbyterian School are to:

  1. Provide an opportunity for growth and development (physically, spiritually, intellectually and socially) at the child's pace and within the love of the Christian community
  2. Promote spiritual growth within families
  3. Support parents in nurturing their children to become life-long learners
Pastor's Message to Online Visitors

From our church,
First Presbyterian Church
of Petaluma.

In our Adventure Preschool Classroom we have a beautiful mural that was made by a former parent. The children like to hear the story of Noah and sing songs which also tell that famous Bible story.

We thought the following message would be uplifting for their parents:

One: Don't miss the boat.
Two: Remember that we are all in the same boat.
Three: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
Four: Stay fit. When you are 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big!
Five: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
Six: Build your future on high ground.
Seven: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
Eight: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetas.
Nine: When you're stressed, float awhile.
Ten: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
Eleven: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.

Happy Day Presbyterian School extends a heartfelt welcome to families of various faiths. Our staff embraces and supports that philosophy as well. Our teachers share their Christianity with the children by including them in songs, conversations and stories which support their understanding that Jesus loves each of them. At Christmas and Easter, we emphasize God's love and underline the importance of the birth of Jesus and ultimately his resurrection. All of these concepts are taught at the child's level of understanding. During the school year, we sing Grace before our snack time, we weave the concept of "love one another" throughout our curriculum and we demonstrate kindness and respect in our manner of teaching.

Our focus is to provide an intellectually stimulating and spiritually supportive educational experience for children. We also provide education and support for parents as they encourage their children to become life long learners. Home is your child's first school and it is my hope that home and school work in tandem for the best benefit of your child. It is also my hope that through your children you will develop your own religious and spiritual traditions so that your child has a strong foundation to build upon. Our school has been a valued ministry of the First Presbyterian Church of Petaluma for the past 30 years and with God's grace we will continue on for another thirty.
