"Lunch & Leisure"
During this important transitional time the children will be able to
socialize with children from other morning programs, as well as meet
children who are just arriving for the afternoon. Playground time, small
group involvement and conversation are activities the teachers will
structure for the children to enjoy!
Parents will provide a nutritious lunch for their child to eat, at
approximately 12:30 pm, during this time.
1:00 PM to 3:30 PM
"Rest & Relaxation"
Both sleep and rest options are provided during this time for children
who enjoy this comforting part of the day or for those who are at school six
hours or more. (Required by the state licensing code.) Cots, clean sheets
and snack are provided daily. The highlight of this time period is the
enjoyment of classical & other soothing music, and wonderful literature.
or
"Early Enrichment Activities"
For the child who loves to do "just a little more" or wants to add an
additional learning time to the school week, this literature based
enrichment time, with a snack, will be stimulating. Throughout the week
excellent children's literature and authors will be featured; the children
will have the opportunity to do many related activities, based on the
Building Blocks theme for that particular day. Spanish, Sign Language,
Yoga, Computers, Cooking and Science instruction are all an exciting plus!
3:30 PM to 5:00 PM
"Late Enrichment Activities"
This time of the day is highlighted with creativity and conversation as
the teachers provide activities based on that day's Building Blocks theme!
Teacher directed arts & crafts projects, music, literature, gardening and
the ever popular Yoga are the focus, but there is certainly time for the
children to make play choices both inside and outside of the classroom.
Much individualized attention is observed as the children also play games,
complete projects, and pursue special interests. |
